Artist's Description

Taken at Patan Durbar Square (Kathmandu, Nepal) – September 2008.
Patan Durbar Square is one of seven UNESCO sites in the Kathmandu Valley. Patan Durbar Square is an amazing array of Buddhist and Hindu temples and monuments surrounding the Royal Palace, which dates from the 3rd Century.

On one of the many temples within the square – the Vishwanath Temple, this tiny golden face was found, embedded in the aging wooden and red brick walls. It seems to me like the golden waves are burning as the afternoon sun reflects off the antique gold!
