Love your lilly of the valley

A girl with strawberry curls shining in the golden dawn
dripping with succulent sweetness
her violet eyes filled with reminders of dazzling
in the early mornig glare
burning away a misty haze
she sits at the base of an
old tree
whoose trunk is swirled with knots
a leafy canopy
not quite filled
sifts dust motes
whirling around her
this girl sings a sad and low song
for times that have escaped her
some things she just can’t forget
the years of laughter and tears
fill her
and pour her up
as she remembers a man who
vanished almost into thin air
as if he were never there
a fading image
gray and white
she holds his picture tight
near to her fiery garnet heart
trying to cling to his memory
a secret
silent battle
she sent out a sea green glass bottle
in to the ocean far and wide
miles and miles that lonely bottle
bobbed weaving in and out of tides
one day the girls message
met a sandy beach
i was walking along digging my toes in
the cool softness
when i stubbed my big toe
on the top of that bottle
i said
oh whoa
and pulled the cork off
I read a tragic tale of a girl who
lost her lover yet could never forget
the way his emerald eyes glistened in the dusk
his strong warm arms wrapped around her holding her near
she wished that she could hear his smokey voice
sluurred by his sleep when he went to kiss her cheek
in the first glowing rays of the sunrise
she had loved him to the quick
sashaying in her bones
when he picked her up and spun around
then they would dizzily fall to the ground
she stared at the clouds and saw his face
he was full of serenity and grace
she could never say goodbye because one day she dreamt
that he would welcome her with a warm hello
their love was so stong that it could never be burnt or broken
the hottest blaze could not turn it to ashes
the hardest blow would not land
on the heartstrings that were so deeply intertwined with one another
lifetimes would not seperate them because she knew he would find her
thier souls she used to say were laced together they would find eachother
even if it took forever she signed her dear letter miss you always love your lily of the valley girl
