Artist's Description

Located in St John’s in Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia these are the earliest windows in the church, which celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2007.
However, it is unlikely that these two small windows would have been in the original church building on the site, a small wooden structure which was replaced some years later with the forerunner of today’s church.
As it was enlarged and extended,so these windows became internal. They are now between a chapel and the main part of St John’s.

Some years ago in the time of ‘modernising’ wonderful old churches, these windows were nearly removed, but fortunately some wise people who wished them to stay won the day.

The church now has an extensive archives and two archivists. So when I have spoken to them and unearthed some more accurate history, I will add the information here.

But until then, thank you for looking and I hope you enjoy them.
