Artist's Description

twilight comes
daylight fades
slowly
creeping
across the landscape
in an ever flowing
unfolding wave
navigating
each corrugation
undulations
rivers and banks
buildings and streets

never stopping
pausing to think
but unrelenting
no turning back
the night is near and day almost gone
stars begin to show
glowing, finding their place
where they can be
centre of attention
of every star gazer’s eyes
turned upward
to the night sky

over the millenia they have been the source
the finder
the pointer of the way
for astrologers and astronomers
navigators, seafarers
travellers and trekkers
once lost were found
and thanked their lucky stars

but their time is not quite here
impatiently they wait
twilight takes her time…
moving as she pleases
slowly
quietly
imperceptibly
this is her time

this in-between
this end of day.
