Artist's Description

As seen on Most Haunted Live (October 2008).

This room was found inside the nurses quarters on the grounds of a derelict, Victorian asylum.

The purpose of this room décor was as follows:

In October 2008, Most Haunted was filmed live at the asylum over several nights, and used various locations on the grounds each night (I can’t remember what night they did the nurses quarters, but footage is on YouTube for those interested).
Yvette Fielding and some of her crew stood inside the pentagram on the floor. After pouring salt around the edges of the pentagram in a rough circle, she then started to read out an invocation in an attempt to conjure Satan!

This room was referred to by the team as the “Mirror Room”, and a webcam was set up in here for live viewing at home via the internet. There is another room further along the corridor that’s set up in a similar fashion. The psychic on the show explained that the duplicate room was to “teleport” any evil spirits they happened to conjure inside this Mirror Room. A bit of a safety catch, I believe.

Taken with a Canon EOS 40D with a Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC wide angle lens.

Tone mapping in Photomatix Pro, with curves and finishing touches in Photoshop CS5.
