Most of my images are taken in an attempt to inspire my creative writing in some way.

High Dynamic Range photography is a style that I’m completely in love with. There’s just something about tasteful HDR that can make an urban capture appear more brooding and mysterious. My favourite images are those that remind me of post-apocalyptic settings, or those that make me feel something, or make me wonder what went before or what happens next.

As my skills with a DSLR camera improve, I hope to experiment with alternative forms of lighting and night time photography.

I currently use a CANON EOS 40D with a SIGMA 10-20mm F/4-5.6 EX DC wide-angle lens (my favourite lens).

For less serious shots, or those that would benefit from a new perspective, I use a SAMYANG 8mm F3.5 Aspherical IF Fisheye lens. Having a lot of fun with that. :)

For Macro work, I tend to use a Canon 50mm EF F/1.8 II prime lens. I like this lens because it teaches me to think about framing a subject, as you can’t zoom in or out.

I also own a Canon EF 28-135 mm F/3.5-5.6 IS USM macro/zoom lens. This is a great walk-around lens, and I’m amazed by the clarity and sharpness it gives you on both macro and zoomed shots.
