I make drawings and paintings in an illustrative style. I’m drawn to portraiture and figurative work in an attempt to represent how my mind interprets the subject as opposed to an exact photographic image.

I often find inspiration for my art in old photographs, classical portraiture and popular culture. I especially like turning complex pieces into simpler illustrations that connect to contemporary culture.

I love to experiment with different mediums and explore their amazing capabilities. I dabble with acrylics, oil paints, inks, pen, coloured pencils, watercolours, gouache, coffee, tea, watercolour pencils, graphite, pastel and collage. From time to time I’ve even played with ceramics and printmaking. I often explore the same subject and theme across different media to see the effect the materials have how I depict the image.

I often post progression pictures of my work on instagram.

Portfolio Overhaul

After 6 years of accumulating various artworks, I came to the conclusion that my portfolio on Redbubble needed a revamp and complete overhaul to reflect my current art. / Things may look a little bare over the next few weeks. / To see some of my current work while I prepare digital files, please find me on instagram @jellyscuds / xx
