Artist's Description

I felt my first version of La Que Saba http://www.redbubble.com/people/jeffkingston/wo... should have a companion piece, perhaps one that suggested an alternate reading. Both images are for me about death and rebirth, this one perhaps is more closely linked to rebirth than its companion piece.
The idea came about with the thought of a woman’s face, blowing bubbles, and inside the bubbles was a falling or ascending figure. As the image developed the bubble was replaced by a crystal ball. The woman holding the ball began to represent to me the idea of an ‘earth mother’, or giver and taker of life. Presiding over sexual fertility and seeing to it that life replaces life, and seeing herself, nature, die and rebirth inside the green transparent ball.
