Atheists Angels (The Fickleness of Friendship)

Gabriel ties the sheep shank,
And comradeship and camaraderie entwine,
A love greater than sex,
An overpowering intimacy,
Blissful attachment.

This perfect connection,
Stable to the untamed eye,
Yet under deceiving social pressures,
Pulling on the heartstrings,
Pulling all the strings.

The unthinkable gives way to inevitability,
The bond is broken,
The knot unravels,
Two separate entities exist,
Lost in the freedom of community.

Alas, the cherubs do not forfeit,
A replacement overhand is tied,
Invisible reminiscence,
Seemingly much stronger than before,
Knotted up in the fickleness of friendship.
