I hope you enjoy this ‘earliest work’ collection of raw experimental but imaginative and somewhat autobiographical artworks, many of which could be categorized Outsider Art. Most of this work was done from about 1981 when I left home at 18 years old to go to university to study Biology. You may notice a biological influence in this work.
Work made before this time is still somewhere at my parent’s place.

You will also notice that some of my early work is colored with watercolor or acrylic, or texta, and some are in black and white. In addition that a small number are signed Julie Dunstan, which was my married name from 1987-1995. Although most are signed in my maiden name of J. D. Lawless. Although, there was a large period of my life when my children were young that I did not do much artwork, during those years I did, however, design a few murals at our home and at a local playgroup.

I now (since 2001) work mostly with oil paint, in a Naive style, and have another redbubble page under construction, which is dedicated to those works at JDLPaintings. Also check out my older page Joolee, which showcases an overview of my work. I am sorry that the images on my Joolee page are of inferior quality, but this site contains some works sold or given away before I got good quality images made. Disregard the messages saying my work is not there, just click on the link regardless.
