Artist's Description

At times bemoaning the unseasonal weather, the rain, and the drab overcast skies, so unusual for the Red Centre in July (the dry season), the pay off was this lovely waterfall at Kings Canyon in the Watarrka National Park.

The Kings Canyon rim walk is full of wonder and delight, from the ghostly gums, to the stunning views of the sheer walls of the canyon, to the beautiful garden of eden, and the domes of the ‘lost city’, all in itself enough to warrant the steep climb and long walk. To top if all off though was this waterfall that typically does not flow in the dry season. How delighted we were to take the turn at the end of the canyon, walk the rim on the other side and look back so unexpectedly to see this beautiful sight.

Taken with a Canon 5D, a 70-200 f/4 L at 91mm, a 1/5 sec exposure at f/13 and ISO 100.
