Artist's Description

While the wonderful park of the country-house “Schaep en Burgh” at ’s-Graveland can boast of some of the oldest oak- en beechtrees in the area, the central lane unfortunately is lined by younger beechtrees. While they look quite big in this particular perspective, there are nothing like the real big old guys. Still they beautifully lead up to the country-house itself.

The historically important country-house was first built in the 17th century, but was rebuilt after 1815. It now houses the central administration of the Dutch Society of Nature Monuments.
