Artist's Description

As is generally known Dutch polders were laid dry with the help of tens and tens of wind-mills. Only a small number of them are left today, and few still stand so near to each other as here on a picture taken near Schermerhorn in the Dutch province of North-Holland where they were used to dry up the well-know Schermer polder.
