Unsaid

These cracks within never seemed so thin
When seen from high above.
And screams so loud, their pitch was drowned,
As lullabies adored;
Her perfect form, her starlit eye,
Her neck my stairway to the sky…
My eyes were trained, yet all in vain
The walls behind that crumbled through, as if they knew
To speak the truth of God.
As inch by inch fog seeping in, it
Covers you, and then,

In stone cold light we shadowed on,
A path well worn, a path well known,
And danced upon the light of day, lost
In moments disarray, raised our banner high.
I could have sworn it cut the sky, to bleed its light
Into your eyes, and with a final breathe exhaled
A rainbow on you as a crown.
In my mind this all was mine, I knew
If I could only hold it, it was true.

Yet she could not transcend that sense,
Beyond the vapor of a dream.
The waters wane upon her shore,
She is, is not, and is no more.
For there alone her pedestal lies,
Beneath a ever shifting sky.
Yet I make the make believe believe,
I drunk the river made of dreams.
And lost myself within its might,
To fight away my will to fight.

This ground cannot hold its weight,
It breaks beneath every pin,
And through the broken walks of life
A foggy mind is creeping in.
She is, is not, and nevermore.
Created in that void.
That hairline fracture in my head,
That gap between me live and dead,
She is a thousand words
I never said. A thousands words I never said.
