Artist's Description

I haven’t been back to my usual fox location since mid Spring – partly because the place is so overgrown I wouldn’t be able to spot a fox if there were any still there.

I have noticed a red fox on my way to Mt Evans a few times, but I’ve never been in a position to get a decent shot. Last weekend, though, I spotted the fox and happened to be cruising by slowly enough that I was able to pull over and grab a couple of quick shots before the fox fled into the woods. He did give me a few nice poses in that brief time. I already had the TC on the 300, so all my shots were close in portraits, but at least I had some gorgeous light (an advantage to my early starts).

Maybe I can eventually develop a photographic relationship with this fox like I have with some others..
