Hell on Earth

It’s clouding over out there,
The warmth of indoors contrasts
To the chill of the dull air.
Tinted red, they amble past

Each one becomes a warning sign
To me. To us. Forgive me lord
For I have sinned, marred your design.
If you exist that is. It will be restored

I wouldn’t break my own bones,
And yet I poison what is essentially ME.
A drug in itself, which no-one condones,
But this is no relaxant, it won’t set me free

From the pain, the ache, the hell.
Each empty bottle, drop of oil
Is a cry for help, as the anguish swells.
I am a taker, watching the earth boil
