While photographing some flowers in Dartmoor National Park (UK) I noticed this very young horse in a small but deep pool. It was up to its neck in the water and unable to get out. My daughter and I ran down the hillside to the pool and pulled it out by its legs. This shot is from five seconds after that. It was soaking wet, trembling and shivering and had a hard time finding its balance, but after this last look at us it followed its mother up the hill.
