I am a graduate student at Carleton University in Ottawa. My work focuses on the neuroethology of eared moths and butterflies and the bioacoustics of avian predation. Field work led me deep into Canada’s forests for long periods of time. I spent much of this time hiding quietly behind trees and bushes in attempting audio recordings of avian flight. I have long been intrigued, inspired, and motivated by nature and the outdoors, however, it was not until conducting this fieldwork (or homework) that I picked up a camera to record the visuals and document just how much one sees while quietly sneaking and seeking through a forest. I now take my camera everywhere I go, whether it be a solo mission deep into our woods or an outing with friends and fam. Thanks for taking a look. Comments and criticisms are welcomed. That’s why I joined.
