Artist's Description

Leah Maude Hancock was my mother’s baby sister. I never had the privilege of knowing her, she died of Bright’s Disease at the young age of 14. She was ill for many years and bed-ridden the last few. Just before Leah passed on she said she could see her grandma (who was already gone) waiting for her. Her death devastated her parents and siblings, such a sad, sad time for them all. My grandmother cut out these flowers from an old card and glued them around Lea’s picture. I now have that album in my possession.
