Artist's Description

Proud as punch! Anglesea SLSC IRB team at the end of the Aussies at Kawana Waters. They are, back row, from left, Darcy Holbery-Morgan, Sarah Bennett, Jeremy Farrington (IRB captain), Penny Rogers, Nicholas Creevey, Andrew Doyle, Wayne Cartwright, Jasmin Ellis; front row, from left, Brooke Dalvean, Julia Cullity, Ken-Gene Yap, Rebecca Plant, Kira Crawford-Brooks, Elizabeth Coyne.
World Female Tube Rescue Champions Anglesea continued their strong dominance, with the combination of Julie Cullity (driver) Rebecca Plant (crewperson) and Ken-Gene Yap (pictured with gold medals) holding off reigning champions North Burleigh and Kurrawa.
Cullity said they had been working hard for this one and were thrilled with the win.
“The conditions out there this weekend have been tricky – but we knew we had worked hard and that it would pay off if we stuck to the game plan,” she said.
“To win at Worlds 12 months ago and then come out to win at the State Champs, Interstates and now the Australian title, it really is fantastic.
“We have been competing as a team now for almost five years – we train really hard and work together well as a team,” said Cullity.
