Our O-Bahn system was built here in Adelaide, South Australia in 1983. It provides us with a fast rail bus system that spans 12 kilometres from the city to the eastern suburbs. It is a fantastic system and is the only one in Australia. The buses travel at up to speeds of 100 kph. They are fitted with small disc like objects at the bottom of the bus on each side and when the bus enters the rail, these discs lock on and steer the bus so the driver just sits there and relaxes. All they have to do is work the accelerator. I personally have travelled on this system and it is great! It takes around 10 minutes to travel the 12 kilometres to the city.
I took this photo standing on the pedestrian overpass just outside the Paradise bus station.
