Artist's Description

The Sylvan mill was constructed in 1840. The original wood water wheel was replaced in 1952 by a 27 foot, 10,000 lb steel wheel that was relocated there from Tennessee. The eighty-five foot waterfall is fed by springs on top of Black Rock Mountain. The mill house is a bed and breakfast called Sylvan Falls Mill Bed and Breakfast.
