Anna Karenin

“Vengence is mine, and I will repay” Leo Tolstoy

Indigo kisses,
From lily white lips,
From the grave, it insists.
Anna Karenin, your torment haunts me so.
Of hours into days spent shamefully away.
Away from the lying eyes of hyprocrisy
And society laid bare.
Your paranoias cresending, leading you down into
An insane maze, of your own making.
Of true love gone awry, two lives lived only for love.
Or at least in naivety tried.
You were not to know, of inequalities, stronger than love.
Rending apart what life’s repair there was.
Two souls, one more equal than was fair,
To surrender it all, just leaving a cry rending the bleak black air.
Was it worthwhile, did you repay?
