This mixture of cumulus and altocumulus was changing rapidly as a warm front approached. A few hours later it was raining. I took this on the high ground above Blaenavon and the Brecon Beacons can be seen in the distance.

Thanks very much for taking the time to look through my photos and make comments on them. It’s much appreciated.
What a surprisingly interesting image, Jane….the patterns created by the clouds and the absence of color (and your composition) really do draw the eye….particularly viewed large….plus, the very subtle graduation of light in the varying levels of clouds is apparent also…nicely captured.
Thanky you very much for your detailed comments, KatMagic. When I took this the sky was changing rapidly and a few minutes later the ‘patchwork’ effect had almost gone as the lower cloud began to obscure the view.
