Imagine discovering an old and very poor quality snap-shot of a painting done 43 years before! A bit mind-boggling!
While preparing for a final move for retirement purposes from the US to Thailand I came upon some very old unsorted envelopes. Within them I found a variety of old snap-shots… and among the images of a younger manifestation of myself… and pictures from very old and obsolete ‘past lives’… there were some ‘stuck together’ photos of old paintings.
I loaded these into my computer and now to keep myself busy… when not just staring out to sea… I’ve been putting these old faded and damaged images of my art into Photoshop.
Here are two historical buildings in Jamaica that I was commissioned to paint by a local branch of Barclay’s Bank back in 1969. I was the new art teacher at Knox College in the center of the Island and was very chuffed to be asked to do these paintings. I found two pics I must have taken of them before delivering to the bank. I posed them leaning against my bungalow… and after 40 years they were very faded. I hope my memory and PSE skills have restored them somewhat accurately. I put them into RB card format with notes… for whatever reason… ;-)))
I believe they are ‘acrylic’ paintings on pieces of ‘hard-board’.
