As the small note in the corner indicates this drawing was done about a week before the devastating tsunami on the beaches of Phuket Island. Diane and I had flown to northern Thailand two days before the tsunami and followed the news from that safe distance. Kamala Beach was one of the worst hit and we visited it the year after and were struck by the resiliency of the Thai people and the fantastic work they’d done to repair and replace the damaged infrastructure.
This simple drawing shows the typical roof detailing on many Thai buildings. It was drawn in my Canson 5×8″ sketchbook and was loaded to RB, along with a few others late into an insomniac attack night a few weeks ago.;-)))
