Grow Where You Are Planted (And Bear Fruit)

As a photographer I love to capture the beauty of my surroundings. With landscapes I hope to see a gorgeous scene, a terrific sky, spectacular colors and capture it in wonderful light. Many of the photos that I have taken are of amazing places where I live or have visited. The moments spent watching and capturing a spectacular moment is exhilarating.

I took this photo a while back. What I saw was inspiring to me. This tomato plant was growing in front of a small cafe in town. How appropriate! Although I was inspired I just did not think the photo itself had that beauty that I have described.

What I have come to realize is that the beauty of a photo is not always in what is seen but sometimes the beauty is in what is captured.

In life there are times when we are placed in situations or places where we do not want to be. This little tomato plant reminds me that we CAN grow where we are planted and even bear fruit.

I thought I would share this with anyone who might be inspired as I was.

The day after I took this photo, I wanted to go back and try to capture the plant better. I was told by the owner of the cafe that they feared that the plant might not survive. They gathered the small fruit and had fried green tomatoes for lunch.
