Artist's Description

The first Norwegians arrived in the Bella Coola Valley around the 1890’s where many trapper cabins were built and used for hunting and survival. Many of these cabins still stand( with some repairs :) and are still used today. I am sure these cabins have man ya tale to tell…if you look closely in the window it almost looks like the ghost of a trappers past is watching me take a picture :) The First Nations Nuxalk people (pronounced Nu-hawk) date back 10,000 years in the Bella Coola Valley long before any European arrived in the Bella Coola Valley.
