Artist's Description

I did not want a dog at this time. But one day I had an overwhelming urge to get on line and look at dogs. I went to the sight for our local animal shelter and found (of all things) a cocker spaniel. I adore this breed. (and most others honestly!) I just had to go see her.

This is the dog everyone else saw – except me!

She had been mis-diagnosed by a younger vet, and they were treating her to flea allergies. She had been found lose in the street and no one ever claimed her. So she was up for adoption. I did it – I adopted her! The younger vets haven’t seen much of this as it was almost gone – but it is making a comeback.

When I took her to my normal vet – being more experienced, she knew instantly that she had scabbies, (nasty stuff to live with) she treated her with the right stuff. She got well after a time. But those first few days for her were awful and she is still to this day has a horrible fear of being in a cage or kennel.

This is why my sister told me that she could not see what I saw. Until Glory was at the house with us I did not see how truly ill she was.
