Jorneying in light and dark

I walked upon this world alone
With no one left to share
The silence seemed to overwhelm
The streets so strangely bare.

I was not sure not how it began
Or when it came to be
How I’d been left alone
Left so plainly me.

The journeys lost their glow
Now in sorrow found
For once was set with colour
No longer – barren ground.

Seems so long this journey’s past
My feet left on its way
Continuing into hithertoe
End? – I cannot say.

So time has gone
My watch erode
Like buildings passed
These dreams corrode.

Desolation, dreary trudge
I’m locked in a walk
No sounds arise
No birdlike sqwark.

Who could love me
When here I am
Lost in myself
Far from life’s plan?

Not of me
Nor of another
Only one
My true life brother.

I knew him once
Why did I leave
Why did I slip
From heaven’s sleeve?

It was not sudden
Sought truly made
I just let it slide
The colours fade.

So here I am
A life of stark
Where all is light
And all is dark.

Choose to leave it
Wait till I die?
So easy done
I shall not lie.

Yet yearn within
Burn in my soul
A coloured temple
Where ist my all.

I might seek it forth
Shatter night
Get this life
Back to right.

Hold my hand
Burn it bright
Help me Lord
Now shatter night.

Artist's Description

I find life as it stands – sometimes full blast and at others slipping into the background. Though a Christian I am aware of how I fade and how I too soon forget the joy of the vibracy of being in God’s presence. A strange memory problem others share. May we each be renewed with memories of colour, to seek our true hearts desire.
