Artist's Description

Once a fortress occupied by priates, then a smelting site for gold developed by the Spanish. When the gold ran out so did the Spanish. The Dutch were next and today Aruba is part of the Dutch Antilles. The ruins are on the undeveloped side of the island a stark contrast to the built up area on the opposite side. A landscape that is shaped by the wind and the sea.
