Daydreams in Motion

I wish waking up
Always resulted
In your smirk stretching up
Toward amber blues.
You would yawn music notes to the sky
As I tried to catch them and tie them to strings
But, like all weightless things
They’d simply float on
Gathering reverberations
To play along the clouds and rain during stormy evenings.
How perfect it would be
To seal your laughter
In an air-tight jar
To open whenever
My walls would again decay
From screams escaping my tongue.
Your ecstatic voice
Always could bring color
That drips down my spine
To the floorboards
Spreading like dandelions
And illuminating my eyes.
If only these words
could sufficently demonstrate
The ecstacy transpiring
Through my limbs
As I try to imagine
Your hand in mine.
Because that three letter phrase
Never meant so much to me
As it does now
Looking down at my empty palms.
