An Uncertain Sense

Bold rushes of light greeting days end recede,
Withdrawing to darkness, new order decreed.
Alone now, distraught, with all senses impugned,
Lost in a darkness to whom none can attune,
Desperately searching for something to grasp,
Torment enduring, does this pain never pass.
Illusions persist, blinding visions intrude,
Whilst begging forever for brief interlude.

Possessed now of anguish, thoughts weary and torn,
Enraged, and encased in some meaningless form.
Membranes no forces can ever rend broken,
Eyes closing nought once, to light always open.
Fury provoked, essence trapped within time,
Inner growth and decay forever entwined.
Outwardly seeking, hope eternal surpassed,
Inwardly fearing this hope is the last.
