Artist's Description

A first heavy morning autumn frost traces a lone sunlit Maple Leaf precariously hanging from a branch.

I was to meet my daughter down town at 9:30am, but I really wanted to stay home so I could enjoy our first heavy frost outside with my camera in hand. The urge to get out was hard to ignore, so outside I ventured to see if I could find even one subject to take pics of before having to ready myself for a trip into town. The Maple leaf shown was glowing and the frost tracing its outline had me mesmerized as I took a few shots. As I took a few shots, I changed the positioning of the Maple Leaf in the frame, as well as the exposure. Of the three I took, this darkener first shot ended up being my personal favorite!
