Artist's Description

This picture was taken during a bit of Urban Exploration at the Old Cockshutt Plow Factory in Brantford, Ontario, Canada.

Based on the value of it’s exports Brantford was once the third largest manufacturing Centre in Canada. Plows and corporate names like Cockshutt and Massey Ferguson made up a big part of this. Unfortunately by the turn of the Millennium these companies had left leaving nothing but empty buildings, unemployed workers and polluted lands behind.

Brantford is finally starting to recover after it’s long winter of decay. The rail lines that once linked it to major markets have now been transformed into trails for cyclists and one by one the scars of the past are healing and being transformed into new buildings and new opportunities.

Unfortunately the past is still a dirty word in a city so shaped by the events that dragged it through both boom and bust.
