“The man in the arena” Poster, words by Theodore Roosevelt Wrote this as a part of a speech he gave in France, April 23, 1910. The man in the arena printed on a graphic illustration of gladiators in the arena with spectators.
This writing is in the public domain in the United States because it was published before January 1, 1923. Parts of the background image are from Jean-Leon Gerome’s “Pollice Verso” 1872.
