Artist's Description

Very similar to Bush Vetch, but with its flowers arranged into tidy ‘tufts’. It flowers later in the summer than Bush Vetch and most of the island’s other vetch species.

Tufted Vetch can be found all over the island in the later summer months, particularly in late July and August.

This plant has many other common names, including “Cow Vetch” and “Bird Vetch”. The Manx name for this flower is “Pishyr lughag”, which means “mouse vetch”.
