Artist's Description

Cornflowers are said to have once been much more common, especially on arable land. They are now a rare sight, but have been reported in Jurby, Ramsey and Crosby.

Cornflowers are most well known for making an edible blue dye.

The Manx name for this plant is “Kione gorrym”, which means “Blue Head”.
