Artist's Description

This plant is called silverweed because of the silvery sheen on its leaves. In manx, its name is “Duillag-argid” which means “silver leaf”.

These can often be found along the coast of the island.

The roots of this plant are edible and in the past have been used as food and in herbal medicine.
