Artist's Description

This plant has become a rare sight on the Isle of Man, but can sometimes still be found in damp grassy areas.

This plant is poisonous to cattle, sheep and horses and its dried leaves were once used to make a sneezing powder.

The Manx name for this flower is “lus y chorran”, which means “plant of sickle”.
