Artist's Description

This plant grows in wet places and can be found in the Curraghs and at Eary Cushlin. It grows very close to the ground, so can be hard to spot if you are not looking for it.

Sundew is a carnivorous plant. It catches and digests insects which become stuck in the sticky substance covering its ‘tentacles’.

The Manx name for this plant is “lus y druight”, which means “plant of dew”.
