Artist's Description

One of the first flowers of the seashore, scurvy grass can now be found around beaches all over the island. Its leaves are rich in vitamin C and were eaten by sailors to prevent scurvy.

In Manx, this flower is called “Scrub Y Traie”, which means “Scrub of the Beach”.
