Artist's Description

This flower is very common all along the coast of the island. It is almost identical to Scentless Mayweed (Tripleurospermum inodorum).
In Iceland, this flower is known as “Baldr’s eyelashes” because of its whiteness. Baldr was the second son of Odin and was said to be “so bright, that light shines from him”.
The Manx name for this flower is “Neaynin ny marrey”, which means “daisy of the sea”.
