Artist's Description

This flower is native to North America, and very uncommon on the island. It grows in wet places and can be found near Castletown.

This flower has been used as a model for studies of evolution, so many scientific papers have been written about it.

The Manx name for this flower is “Meil-vooar y trooan”, which means “stream blubber-lip”.
