A close up of part of The Clarain FD119 looking towards the river Wyre at Fleetwood Marsh nature reserve, Lancashire Uk. It looks as if it has been torched at some point.
Originally this trawler was called the Lau Ann (FD.119 ex GY.119) and was owned by Jack Robinson from 1983 until 1985. In 1985 she was sold to trawler-men in Fleetwood. She was later sold to a local called Dave Rainford and renamed as Clarain.
She ran ashore somewhere at the top of the estuary channel near Fleetwood and suffered quite a lot of keel damage. No longer seaworthy, she was taken out of commission in February 1989. She ended up laid in the quay for a while before being laid to rest on Fleetwood Marshes where she lays today, decaying.
