Humantic Tools

Fingers that hold a pen
like a smoker does with a cigarette.
Fingers that type on a keyboard
like a musician does with a piano.
Fingers that go from left to right on a long, blue, line_
like the eyes of a reader.
Fingers, the more I say the word
(or more like think it in my head)
the more weird it sounds.
Fingers…
It’s starting to sound sexual and perverted.
This is not where I wanted this poem to go
but this is where it’s going
and there’s no way of stopping it.
Ask the poem, go ahead, ask it:
‘poem is there a way, anyway, of stopping you
from going this direction?
No? I didn’t think so.
I can’t help that poem started off as sounding nice and structured,
and now has turned into self-aware philosophical bacterial garbage.
Thee… end.
