Lunar Rabbits and Hares
Designed by ImogenSmid
A running project I recently started is based on Iconography. My very first article was about how the rabbit and hare are used in numerous cultures as a symbols of fertility. This illustration was based on that article. The main inspirations is from the ancient legend of the moon-gazing hare, the traditon of Ostara (Easter) and the two Aztec rabbit gods Ometotchtli and the 400 Aztec rabbit gods Centzontotochtin See the full article at my blog: http://thestagsheadcreation.wordpress.com/2014/01/17/fertility-hares-and-rabbits/ easter, ostara, rabbit, bunny, hare, moon, egg, aztec, celtic, knot, birth, sex, ometotchtli, goddess, god, pagan, iconography, symbol, imogen smid, the stags head, love, fertility, centzontotochtin, star, blue, gold, icon, moongazing hare, moongazing, moon gazing hare, goddess god, deity, rabbit god, rabbit goddess, athropomorphic, anthro, anthro rabbit, anthro hare, handpainted, hand painted
