Another in my series on Geishas. This coloration was appealing to me, but not typical of tradutuibak Geisha images. Likewise the setting is more likely Hispanic in nature. Inspired by living in Hawaii and Japanese culture.

What a marvelous atmosphere you have created within this work , the warmth of the background makes a perfect foil for her cool colours and beauty
Thanks. I wasn’t certain about the combination as the yellow is really a yellow-green but the brown offsets it a bit. The blues do stand out and I am glad it resonates with you.
stunning work, I don’t know if this is a painting a photograph or a combination, but it doesnt matter, its just great.
This is a combination of multiple images. The model is from a shoot I did. The background pots from another shoot….and there are multiple filters and brushes (that I have made) used as filtered layers in the foreground and background. These fused images/layers are used to modify the image and create texture. Others effects are a secret….but it is a photograph basically.
Nice work Jeff,clare
Thanks Clare. Glad you looked. There is so much good art on RB and sooooo much presented daily, sometimes works just slip by unnoticed. Happy that this one did not.
Jeff the colouring ,for me , emphasizes a sadness about her ( as though she regrets being a Geisha Girl ) but then my imagination is inclined to run away with all sorts of fascinating stories ,most probably completely irrelevant to the point you were working on making !!!
Actually I did not have a conscious point with this one. But it is interesting that when a piece is developed it takes on a life that may reflect subconscious thoughts or feelings of the artist. My mother says that my work is too dark for her tastes. What does that say about me I wonder?
LOL! Perhaps you like to read your stories by candlelight hahaha ! But here you have great play of darkness and light ! The contrast is starkly superb and makes a big statement ! The most wonderful happening is that it provokes thoughts and pondering over ……..to me that means it is a work of substance , maybe even controversy ,which in turn states that it is important as a conversation piece , LOL! Why not frame it and hang it on your wall (giggle)
Your image would make a great addition to the Face-painting – Bodypainting
Thanks. Will add it to your port.
a w9nderful image great kimona !LIZ
Thank you so much. The Mua did a good job. Styling was by Devilish styling and dress by phantom media and shayla Jones.
Fantastic Jeff!! :)
Thanks much Keith.
Love your Geisha serie, especially this one. Very well done :))
I think that it is the color contrasts that make this one unique…..?
