Artist's Description

If you enjoy rain shots as a part of your photography regimine…. then plant some of these babies… they are sure to please!

Cleome, or spider flower, is an old-fashioned annual known for its exceedingly long seedpods. They develop below the flowers as bloom progresses upward on the stalk to give the plants a spidery look, as do the projecting stamens of the flowers.

The unusual flowers have long stamens and clawed petals that resemble spiders, earning Cleome the common name of Spider Flower.

The rose, pink or white flowers are 1 to 2 inches across with 2- to 3-inch-long stamens.
The flowers are fragrant & attract hummingbirds.
(so you might get some great bird shots as well) !
