NOTICE TO BUYERS – New shop layout (on apparel)

RB have recently decided to undertake a massive change to the site, particularly on some apparel, which is affecting both the look and the way buyer’s shop at present.

Unfortunately, for you, the visitor, this may prove to be somewhat…confusing. In light of this, may I suggest, you shop via ifourdezign’s Portfolio (or even collections – see right) for the interim, to help you locate items quicker. While we are assured the changes are only temporary, they are deemed inconvenient at such a crucial time of the shopping year. If you would like more information please visit RB’s Blog on the matter.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me via Twitter

Dezign with a Zee

With an extensive background in magazine publishing ranging over a period of sixteen years, ifourdezign has attained a varying array of skills in layout and print media. However, away from the complexities of working in four colour print, ifourdezign’s personal passion since childhood lies more within the realms of photo-manipulation and digital photorealism particularly in portraiture.

Therefore, in 2009, after the purchase of a small Wacom tablet, plenty of practice and a few choice words, a love affair with digital art/painting was soon realised, and was the crux behind ifourdezign ditching traditional mediums in favour of owning an iMac and the Adobe Creative Suite.

‘In the workplace I used the creative suite for many years, but still consider myself a self-taught digital artist. In fact, I didn’t get my first home computer until the grand old age of twenty-five. Which sounds ridiculous now when you think kids, these days, practically come out of the womb clutching a tablet being able to code in HTML.

Yet, even though digital media was still in its infancy during my era and packages like photoshop and illustrator were only accessible in professional studios, I’ve never compromised on quality. Nor do I ever settle for the easy options when it comes to creating decent digital art. So, whilst it can be a big change, dropping a paintbrush or a pencil in favour of a tablet/pen, the transition from traditional to digital art, least for me, was relatively painless.

In fact, I’ve probably become more of a perfectionist these days with an even bigger obsession for detail’. — ifourdezign

Well, fair play to ya… no one can blame you for trying! / However, if these folks are going to take advantage of my posts, then I thought one must make the most of the time they are visiting. Dealing with PDF's Resolution and Jpgs (Forum Question)

This post is in response to a question from RB member Sarah Cruse / In showing me how to change some PDFs to JPGs my friend said I could get around that by increasing the RESOLUTION until i got the pixel numbers I wanted. I don’t understand how this can be ok. Is she wrong? / No, in theory, she is right. BUT…as with life, it’s not that straightforward. / OK let’s show an example…

Bringing an old Wacom Intuos3 back to life!

Back in the old days when my tablet was all shiny and new / Even though I consider my Wacom Intuos3 to be in fairly good nick for an old piece of hardware, I now realise that for most of my Wacom life, I’ve been ignorant and naive when it comes to its upkeep. / For instance, I have always assumed, once the ‘original’ surface that shipped with the product became damaged, it was c…
